BACK ON SKID ROW WITH THE BROWN BAG LADY - DEC. 4, 2022
On a cold, rainy day in Los Angeles, Reaching Out California was proud to join up again with our amazing partner, the Brown Bag Lady, to provide relief to people experiencing homelessness. Using contributions from our very generous supporters, Reaching Out California purchased 360 pairs of brand new women's underwear -- an article of clothing very frequently requested by the homeless women we serve -- and brought them to the Brown Bag Lady for distribution to women who live on Skid Row.
Earlier in the day, Reaching out California volunteers worked alongside the Brown Bag Lady's wonderful team of volunteers -- sorting and packing clothing, assembling sack lunches, and loading vans, trucks, and cars with these and other items. We then handed out the sack lunches, clothing in every size, sleeping bags, caps, mittens, and hygiene care packages on a street on Skid Row where people experiencing homelessness have come to expect a visit from the Brown Bag Lady the first Sunday of each month.
