In the summer of 2019, Reaching Out California excitedly renewed its partnership with PATH (People Assisting The Homeless) -- a nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles that strives to end homelessness for individuals and families throughout California. Since 2013, PATH has helped more than 7,000 people move off the streets and into permanent homes.
Following months of coordination, Reaching Out California acquired every item that Miguel asked PATH to provide for his new home: a large bookcase, a television set, a living room table, appliances, floor lamps, towels, and various other home furnishings. Until recently, and for over five years, Miguel lived in a tent set up outside of a department store in Los Angeles.
On the morning of July 27, 2019, Reaching Out California volunteers pulled up to Miguel's apartment building and delivered to Miguel everything on his wish list. Thank you, PATH (and Waverly and Andrew, in particular), for allowing Reaching Out California to assist in making a home for a man who had been living on the streets.
